My girlfriend, now fiance, have been going to cox bay resort for 6 years around the same time with our dog. This would have been 7 years, and also extra special because now we are engaged and are looking at wedding venues in TOFINO.

While speaking to the staff and trying to make a reservation, there was no availability for a pet friendly 1 bedrooms suite, so we even agreed to stay in the 2 bedroom suite and PAY a premium even if we DID NOT need the extra room. We asked if we could switch rooms for the 2nd half of our trip since there was 1 bedroom pet friendly available in order to save a few dollars. but they wanted us to check out by 11am. and come back at 4pm for the new room. how amazingly inconvenient! I asked if we could stay in the 2 bedroom for the duration instead and possibly, the resort could give me a break on the price since we have been loyal customers for so many years, and the fact that we decided to pay extra for a 2 bedroom when we only need a 1 bedroom, but all the manager would do is waive the pet fee. $40 one time pet fee. Thats all our loyalty is worth to Cox Bay Beach Resort. Thanks but no thanks. Not 3 minutes later, we had booked next door @ Pacific Sands.

This situation is hugely disappointing because we have stayed at Cox Bay resort so many times but it meant nothing as to them as loyal returning guests.

We are planning to get married in Tofino and will continue to vacation there with our dog for many years to come. But moving forward, we will think twice not have any loyalties with Cox Bay

Fantastic location right next to Cox Bay Beach which has great surf and sunsets that you see in films. Staff were great and helpful with directions and things to do. Never seen a hotel designed in this way and it didn't disappoint. Has everything you need and more inside, nice and warm on those cold nights in Autumn (or Fall). Bed was the comfiest I think I have ever stayed in which was a massive plus. No restuarant in the hotel but you are right next to a hotel that sells luxury food and one that sells nice fast food. Only a 5-10 drive from Tofino centre.
