I recently stayed at the Courtyard by Marriott Toronto Downtown while on a business trip. The hotel was nice and the room was fine but I found the construction right outside my window to be a tad noisy (see pictures). This is not the hotel's fault, obviously. Other than that, my bed was comfortable and my stay was fine.

This is one big hotel. The check in process was really good. The girl explained all of the amenities in detail and all was easily understood.
Valet parking is $45 a day, but provides easy in and out privileges.
For breakfast, you can order the $25 buffet, or order an item (like a breakfast burrito) from the Cafe counter, where they serve Starbucks coffee.
The place has a gym and pool on the lower level. The gym is quite big and has lots of different workout machines, weights, and treadmills. The pool is divided into separate sections. The whirlpool looks very cool.
The king bed room we received was relatively small, with a sink in a separate room than the shower—what a strange set up. The bed was comfortable. There’s a huge HD TV, but not a lot of premium channels. However, I do like the dresser in front of the TV that allows for lots of table top space to put your personal items in plain view.
There’s quite a number of fast food places around the hotel (Mcds, Wendys, A&W) as well as a stand-alone Starbucks, one block south. More restaurant and shopping options are a 15 minute walk south towards the Eaton Centre area.
