The Courtyard Providence Downtown is all about location. It’s walking distance to attractions and restaurants, such as the RISD Museum and Union Station Brewery, and offers views of the city’s rivers from its guestrooms and suites, which make WaterFire with young kids that much more enjoyable.
It is also about convenience. All accommodations have free Wi-Fi; there is an onsite laundry facility; and the onsite Bistro serves up breakfast and dinner daily. With a prime location in the heart of downtown Providence, families can’t go wrong with a stay at the Courtyard.

I spent the last month working in Providence and staying at Courtyard by Marriott. The hotel staff is very friendly. The rooms are nice, take a room facing the entrance or a higher floor so it will be quiet.

We came to Providence from Mississippi because our mom and aunt were born here and had not been back in 60 plus years. The staff here, mainly Robert and Ashley, were so kind and amazing! They took the time to give us suggestions of things to do and see while we were here!! It was like having our own tour guides!! It was a very clean and comfortable hotel with a nice little place to get coffee, drinks and food as needed. Really great location as well. Close to everything!!

The rivers are just steps from your hotel room.

The Art of Smart Timing
Providence is a year-round destination, with many festivals and events held throughout the seasons, including WaterFire in the summer and the Jack-O-Lantern Spectacular at the Roger Williams Park Zoo in the fall. The hotel is also close to the Dunkin Donuts Center, which plays host to sports games, concerts, large events and more, so the hotel may fill up quickly during those times, too.
The city is also home to multiple colleges and universities, so the school year will see an influx in people throughout the city, which may also bring more parents and visitors to the hotel.
The spring and fall seasons are temperate, while summer is warm with cool nights. The winter may see large snowstorms. Visit in September, October, April or May for good rates and comfortable weather.
Getting There
Providence is located right off of I-95. If driving, take exit 22A and stay to the left to find the Courtyard just minutes from the highway. If flying, Warwick's T.F. Green Airport is the closest to the city and the hotel, just 10 minutes away. It services most major airlines and rental cars are available.
Getting Around
Providence is a walkable town, and with the location of the Courtyard in the heart of the downtown area, there is no need to have a car. Take public transportation from the airport to the hotel and then enjoy seeing the sights on foot. If needed, taxis and public buses are available.
For Mom and Dad
If you can grab a little alone time away from the kids, head to Union Station Brewery, located just steps from the hotel, for local bites and brews. For a slightly more upscale evening, try Café Nuovo, as it is located right on the river. If you can't sneak away from the little ones, visit on a night when WaterFire takes place, and bring them along to enjoy an evening sitting along the river and watching the various bonfires. You can also opt to take a gondola or boat ride along the river while the fires burn.
