Overview

Courtyard New York Manhattan/Central Park is one of two hotels located within the tallest hotel building in New York City. The hotel, which opened in late-2013, features public spaces and rooms with floor-to-ceiling windows that provide views of Times Square and Broadway.
The other hotel in this building is the Residence Inn. Guests share a lobby check-in, a fitness center on the 35th floor, and a fourth floor lounge, where a Bistro Bar serves breakfast and light bites throughout the day. They also share the many nooks and couches found throughout the lobby, armed with electrical outlets so families can stay connected while traveling. Guests of each hotel have different elevators from the shared lobby. Those riding to floors on the Courtyard side will find a color palette of warm reds and oranges, while guests on the Residence Inn’s side will find a soothing collection of blues and whites.
Both properties provide kitchenettes in the rooms, with refrigerators, microwaves, dishwashers and all the tools for cooking and dining. On the Courtyard side, room options are King, Queen, or 2 Double, and it’s the only one of the two that has adjacent rooms with a separate foyer connecting a king to two doubles for a family option.

I stayed here for a 4 night city break with family. It’s basic but it’s clean, great value, really convenient for downtown Manhattan (which is much quieter) but still only 15 mins on the Metro to Times Square.

The Art of Smart Timing
New York City is a year-round vacation destination; there isn't any time of year that isn't a good time to go. However, the holiday season is peak season, and this hotel's views of Times Square will make it especially popular around New Year's Eve. For the best selection, visit when big events are not taking place in the city.
Arriving in the city by train, Grand Central and Penn Station are both a mile from the hotel, so a taxi is inexpensive.
Getting Around
The hotel is located near Central Park and Times Square, making it easy to walk and enjoy the city. It's also next to the subway, Red, E, B and D lines. If you drive to the property, valet parking and self-parking offsite are available for $55 per day ($65 for oversized vehicles).
For Mom and Dad
Check out the art installations around the hotel, created by William DeBilzan. The artist incorporated textiles into his pieces, using fabric to pay homage to the owner's beginnings in textiles. The colors of his pieces change per hotel side, as well.
