Our initial check in was efficient. There is valet parking, but there wasn't a bell hop to assist us with brining our luggage to the room. No problem, we grabbed our own trolley and we were on our way. The room was very spacious, but I booked what I thought was a room with 2 queen beds. The beds that are advertised as Queen are actually double. There were three of us, so two people in a double would not have been comfortable. They front desk did send up a cot for us, issue quickly resolved and our weekend begins. We did notice that the room was a little cooler than what we would have expected.
Day 2 - we spent the afternoon shopping and came back to what we expected to be a clean room. If clean means the beds are made and towels replaced, then it was cleaned, My definition of clean would have been to remove the dirty glasses and replace them with clean glasses and also remove the garbage in the room. Maybe it was a busy weekend and the housekeeping staff weren't able to get everything done. Room was still a little cold, but a staff person came up and reset the heating unit and since he was there, he took away the dirty glasses.
Day 3 - our weekend is wrapping up and we are packing to leave. Weekend was a success. One of the girls did a final sweep of the room to make sure we didn't leave anything behind and it was at that moment we realized how unclean the rooms really were. There is no need to mention what was there, but the hotel staff were informed. I assume housekeeping do not look between the bed and the wall, they definitely did not vacuum that area, if they vacuumed at all.
Check out was easy, we did advise them about the fact that the room was not clean. The hotel staff waived our parking fee as a courtesy due to that issue.
I would not book this hotel again, which is unfortunate, The location is convenient, the hotel is a nice hotel with a large comfortable lobby area.

This is a nice, modern, clean hotel. We enjoyed our room and the lobby lounge was very spacious. The wharf boardwalk and restaurants are only steps away. We’ve been to many hotels in the area (our kid goes to Dal university) and this is our favourite in Halifax.
