Checked into the hotel, and was advised after my bill was paid that I would be charged a $7 fee per day fee for parking. When I asked as to why, the lady upfront just said “there’s a fee“. I told her The level of my reward status, that didn’t matter. Asked if it could be waived, she said no. Basically, you are paying. As I sat in my room and started researching the topic-as you guessed I don’t stay in hotels often-I see this ‘rip off the client’ practice is a big problem for clients and a billion dollar business for the hotels. Yet no one seems to have a solution. As I sat there irritated, I wondered what if every guest left the water on during their stay - sink and shower- would the hotel decide to knock off their nonsense of ripping off the very people they sarcastically call ‘guests’? There’s bs resort fees or parking fees would easily be absorbed by the increased expenses; probably ten-fold.; I’ll have a good night sleep listening to the soothing running water like I’m on water front property, and have the internal satisfaction knowing that I’m getting my money’s worth on that fee and they are not. Hope it catches on #leavethewateron

Haven't stayed here for a while. The property is getting older. The rooms are typical courtyard--sparse. But that is what you expect. Nothing special but that is okay. Now the soap, shampoo, etc is in large bottles inside the shower. Always find this a little weird. At another property told some teenagers had spiked the shampoo with Gatorade. Can't get that out of my mind. The gym is sparse. One stair stepper and two treadmills. No weights or other sorts of things one expects in a gym. Asked why and was told guests seldom use gym and almost never complain about the lack of much equipment. New thing: the hotel now charges for parking. The clerk said every Marriott property is now charging for parking. Didn't know that since I spent the last three nights at different Marriott properties and there were no charges for parking. When I complained clerk said I could always go across the street at stay at the Hilton. Next time I probably will.
