Room was dark and outdated. Iron had exposed electrical wires.... I turned it in at front desk. Went to check out and no one was around, the one lady I found said she was not on duty. Tried to get a coffee and the gentlemen working the register was extremely rude.

I was fairly shocked by the condition of this Marriott property. I guess I should have realized Courtyard was on the lesser end of the brand but didn't think it would be that bad. 1 out of 2 elevators didn't work for the entire weekend and we were traveling with a 2 year old and staying on the 6th floor. We reserved a king suite to have the extra room for our daughter and were told the hotel had cribs. They only had pack n plays, and anyone with a 2 year old knows how small that is and clearly didn't work for us. So needless to say we paid for an entirely extra room that we didn't use. In 3 days staying the maid service didn't come once to clean our room, not to mention there were someone else's leftovers in the fridge when we got there. I have never stayed in a hotel with so many stains on the carpet, scratches on the floors, halls, elevators, it was really shocking to see. Clearly this property isn't taken care of. And for the price I would never stay again - b/c it certainly isn't an inexpensive hotel.
Saying all that service was nice and accommodating. The front desk and breakfast staff were super nice and helpful.
Just shocked at the condition of this hotel. We will definitely be going back to Charleston but not staying here.
