Overview

Located at the head of the Freedom Trail in the historic Charlestown Navy Yard, this hotel is situated near several Boston attractions like the USS Constitution, Bunker Hill Monument and Faneuil Hall to name a few. This 147-room hotel shares a building with the Charlestown YMCA and hotel guests are welcome to use the YMCA facilities. A large heated, indoor pool can be found at the YMCA along with a basketball court and specialized fitness classes. The spacious guestrooms and suites feature king or double beds, a mini-fridge, microwave, coffee maker and flat screen television. Additionally, the suites feature a fully equipped kitchenette with a full-size refrigerator, oven and stovetop, microwave and a small dining tables. Complimentary Wi-Fi is also available throughout the hotel.

Ok if you want to stay in a YMCA

Can you bring it to the Charlestown shipyard great workout room but that’s where it ends

The rooms were not in the greatest shape. The bathroom was way out of date. The hotel service was not good at all

Two elevators, one, only goes up to the third-floor and the other goes to the sixth and they were very very slow

If you’re looking for any kind of modern or upscale hotel this is not it

Difficult Check-In

We recently stayed here on a Groupon. Upon arrival the front desk clerk was unable to find our reservation in their system. I spent a half hour trying to get help from Groupon, and while finally found a way to chat with Groupon, the clerk announced that he found our reservation. We then were required to purchase a welcome bag with 2 waters, crackers and a granola bar. Not disclosed in Groupon....the entire process seemed suspicious.
The room was basic. It was clean and comfortable however. Next time in Boston we are back to the Omni Parker House... our usual choice. Never dissatisfied there. You get what you pay for!
The location, while a mile walk to the Market or North Station, is quiet and safe. The walk to Boston takes you by the docked US Constitution.
We won’t be returning to the Constitution anytime soon.
