Reviews
by Go-to-Concierge
Comfort Suites has two comfortable queen beds and a table with two chairs. The breakfasts served the three mornings I was there were quite scrumptious and plentiful. The friendly staff was there to help at a moment's notice. The beautiful artwork in the lobby was for sale. We had a very wonderful stay at Comfort Suites.

First time visit with friends, we did not arrive until 1:30am and the staff could not have been nicer and gave us an extended checkout. The property is beautiful, right on the water, rooms are wonderful, big and clean. Breakfast was very good as well. The staff here are so professional and friendly. Would love to come back in the summer.
Family Activities
Indoor Pool
The medium-size indoor pool features an attached hot tub, and pool towels are available at the front desk. There are lounge chairs and tables with chairs surrounding the indoor pool area, along with real palm trees (which get moved outside in the summer)! The indoor pool is open from 5 a.m. to 11 p.m. and no lifeguards are on duty.
Outdoor Pool
The medium-size outdoor pool overlooks the beautiful Chincoteague Bay and Comfort Suites boardwalk/pier area. Lounge chairs and tables and chairs immediately surround the pool area and a separate sun deck area is a few steps away, with even more lounging opportunities. The seasonal outdoor pool is open from 10 a.m. to dusk and no lifeguards are on duty.
Kids' Corner
Visit the front desk and the kids will be given a bundle of activities, like coloring books, puzzles, games, books and movies they can watch on the meeting room's large television. If you're traveling with a larger group on a family reunion or student group, this is a great way to gather the kids together and keep them busy for a bit.
Boardwalk/Pier and Bay
A boardwalk pier area runs the length of the hotel property and overlooks the Chincoteague Bay. Kids will love to go fishing or crabbing off the pier by the gazebo and dolphins can sometimes be spotted from here! Swimming off the pier in the bay is not permitted. Boats can not be tied up to the pier; however, there is a boat lift available to hotel guests if requested ahead of time.
Family Dining
Breakfast
Off the lobby entrance, families will find the breakfast area, which serves a complimentary hot breakfast each morning from 6 to 11 a.m. The rotating breakfast items include things like eggs, sausage, bacon, cereal, fruit and waffles. The juice and milk station, as well as coffee and tea, are complimentary and available to guests 24/7, too, even after the breakfast hours.
Picnic and Grill
A few picnic tables can be found lining the canal area by the parking lot. Guests are also welcome to use the grill in the picnic area.

All About the Extras
Fitness Center
The small fitness center, open 24/7, features cardio and weight machines. Gym towels and water are also complimentary.
Market
A small market, filled with snacks, drinks and sundries, can be found in the lobby and is always open. Vending machines are also available on each floor.
Wi-Fi
Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the hotel. Ethernet is also available for those who may be working for a government agency while staying at the hotel.
The Art of Smart Timing
Chincoteague Island is a beach town, so the high season runs from about May through Labor Day. However, there are several fall and spring festivals that bring visitors to town, too.
Getting There
Driving to Chincoteague Island is a family's best option, or you can arrive by boat. If flying, the Salisbury-Ocean City Wicomico Regional Airport, located in Maryland, is about an hour from the Comfort Suites Chincoteague Island. Norfolk International Airport is about two hours away.
Getting Around
There are several restaurants and shops within walking distance to the Comfort Suites. Biking is also big in Chincoteague. While you can bike to the beach at Chincoteague Island National Wildlife Refuge, it is a few miles away from the Comfort Suites, so families may prefer to drive. If you plan to venture off the island, a car is needed.
For Mom and Dad
Take a stroll along the waterfront boardwalk pier for complete relaxation.
