Overview

The Bluffton/Hilton Head part of the world is a beach dripping in luxurious accommodations, no doubt. But if you’re scouting for a value hotel with a reasonable price, step inside the Comfort Suites Hilton Head Island Area (great name, but FYI: this property sits in Bluffton proper).

Just five miles to Brighton Beach, 15 miles to the Coligny Beach Park and three miles to Old Town Bluffton this value hotel features a free breakfast, free parking and free Wi-Fi.

The standard guestrooms offer a king, two queens or two doubles. The king suite has more square footage and a one-person pullout sofa (but with a rollaway, the room sleeps four). Rooms come with a microwave, a mini-fridge and a flat-screen TV. The property also has coin laundry, a small fitness room and an outdoor pool (seasonal). The hotel is tucked in the back of a mall, and is close to shopping and dining. New York City Pizza is a five-minute walk away (or you can request delivery).

OKAY could be a lot better

by Bbecco

Helpful front staff, overall nice building in good area. Housekeeping poor, did not clean my room two out of three days. Motel ran out of bath linens first and second day got to use hand towels after shower. Beds lumpy and on strange noisey platform difficult to get in/out of beds. Very loud Friday and Saturday nights. Very loud scarey elevator. Breakfast ok at best pretty much same things everyday. No cover on ceiling light fixture. Tiny television that is dated.

Red Roof Inn Experience.

On October 12, 2019 my wife and I checked in for a one night stay at the Comfort Suites Hotel in Bluffton South Carolina. The Comfort Suites in Bluffton has always been our hotel of choice for many years as we visited the Bluffton/ Hilton Head area. We arrived around 2:20 P.M to see if we could check in a little early. On my reservation I requested a high floor, non adjacent quiet room at the end of the hall. The front desk clerk said the 3rd floor wasn't cleaned yet but she did have a room on the second floor which was available. I said okay and she gave me the room key and we took the elevator to the second floor which smelled like 10 day old Sour Trash. We walked to the room and the door was cracked with the bed sheets on the floor, which signaled to us that the room was still being cleaned which I could understand because we were just a little early. I went back downstairs and advised the clerk that the room was dirty so she gave us another room on the same floor. So we went back upstairs and tried to get in that room but the keys didn't work. So I went back downstairs to notify the front desk clerk and she sent the maintenance man to program the room door which I noticed was a joining room. I reminded the front desk clerk I requested a non joining room and she said she would work on it so we went and got some lunch.

After we got back from lunch around 6:00 P.M, there was a different front desk clerk which alerted us that the Assistant General Manager personally cleaned the room herself, and he presented us with the room key. We went back to our first room on the second floor and the room itself was big spacious and clean I thought, until we walked inside the bathroom and looked at the tub which looked like someone had taken a Mud Bath but forgot to wash it. So I'm looking at the tub and saying to myself, you got to be kidding me. So I went back downstairs which was getting crowded because the hotel was at full capacity that night. I told the desk clerk that my room was cleaned but the tub was dirty. He said the tub probably looked like that because they were under new owners and it hadn't been refinished yet, but as soon as he got through he would be up there to take a look at it. So I went back to my room and waited and waited. I finally went back downstairs to see what was taking so long. When I arrived back at the lobby, there were more people than before trying to check in. I asked the clerk what was he going to do about my room? He said he didn't have time to look at it because he was busy checking new guest in their rooms which were quite a few. I told him we had dinner reservations and I needed our room to be taken care of since we first arrived at the hotel around 2:20. During the mean time about 5 people were having trouble with their room keys and they were trying to get them reprogrammed. I don't blame the desk clerk he was just following the instructions of his G.M

I told the clerk just refund my money and I could go on my way because I was not waiting until a lobby full of people were checked in and I've already paid for my room. So he called the Assistant GM and she said I could just leave. I told her I wasn't leaving until I got my refund. And she replied there was nothing wrong with the room because she personally cleaned it herself. So I asked her did you clean out the bathtub because it sure looks dirty to me! She replied that she did and there was nothing wrong with the tub it just needed to be refinished. So I replied this room should have never been rented with the tub looking like that. Besides how was I supposed to know that when I checked in. I ended up going to Walmart and bought a bath mat so I could take a shower. She gave No Apologies, No adjustments, and No Solutions other than to try and stick us In a handicapped room with a tub that looked just the same.

My last comment is to Choice Hotel Proprieties. Your Assistant General Manager Jasmine Osmanagich is doing a Great Disservice to your property.  A supervisor should've been able to easily handle this situation with ease, let alone a so called Assistant G.M. Any good manager would have made sure her guest were taken care which we were not. This by far is the Worst hotel experience I've ever had.  Jasmine Osmanagich is not qualified to handle this position and definitely needs to be retrained all over again along with her staff. And to top it all off, the morning of our check out, a Housekeeping staff woke us up at 8:30 A.M, with a Do Not Disturb Sign clearly on our door. This Surely Isn't The Comfort Suites That I'm Use Too.
