Spent our annual holiday here. All in all there is nothing wrong with the place. Having visited the Maldives previously there is some need for finessing to make it perfect.
Accommodation was as described (Villa 86), being spacious, clean and located where we wanted. Housekeeping guy (Ismail) was discreet and very efficient. No tv but glad not to have it. Allowed us to kick back and relax. Wi-Fi was a bit poor but again we didn’t care. The area outside needed a little better maintenance but to be honest that’s just being picky. Plunge pool - what a blessing in the heat!!!!
Food was always to a very good standard and varied. Three meals a day and the option to snack in the bar if you missed lunch. The Thai restaurant was a nice break and the food was very wonderful, getting served for a change and reasonably priced too. With an allowance included for all inclusive guests, the cost was nominal.
Beach bar ideal for sunset drinkies. We always got a cloud or two but it didn’t matter. The location and the ambiance made it just perfect.
Main bar great but service needs a little additional pace. Slow to deliver drinks and generally too frugal with the ice!
Snorkelling a must but don’t expect too much. The reef has been decimated and will take a long time to properly recover. Do go to the drop off by Villa 66. Best there is and some nice sites, big and small.
Excursions break up the days and CPDK make a lot of extra money on this. Manta snorkelling ($100+12%+10%), general snorkel trips, dolphin watching. It soon adds up (£) and takes a bit of swallowing.
Diving seems to be a good outlet and is reasonably priced for qualified divers. Not really a good beginners centre.
Visit the chefs kitchen. It’s quite large and it’s good to see they are trying to become somewhat self supporting. Do the back of house tour and see how the place really works. Quite an eye opener.
Sandbags. (Not a gripe, just a natural issue to counteract)
Deal with it. The island suffers from longshore drift and the beach by the main bar has nearly gone. There is need to invest in better and more robust measures (such as rock cages) to prevent the South side of the Island losing its beach altogether. This is a must and the approach being taken with sandbags isn’t proving successful or attractive.
To business:-
1. Drinks in the room
This was my first experience of a hybrid AI where room alcohol was all chargeable yet drinks could not be taken from the bar.
Change the rule
Make the Beer and wine in the room included in AI with Spirits and snacks charged extra.
2. Drinks at the bar.
Of the entire cocktail menu, possibly only 15% is on the AI and the rest will cost you, generally quite a lot.
Extend out the AI list and don’t be so keen to extract more cash from your guests.
Did we enjoy it? Yes. It was lovely
Would we go back? No. The world is too big and there are many better Maldivian venues (£more)
It’s best described as a Good Paradise Trip. Not being negative, just honest.

We have just returned from 2 weeks holiday and it lived up to all our expectations. From the beautiful lounge at the airport to our lovely room. We were in a Felix room (77) and most of the times it was like being on our own private island as we rarely saw anyone other than the lovely Raju who came twice a day to ensure we never wanted for anything.
The food and all the restaurant staff were brilliant from the chefs coming out to make sure everyone had the food they wanted , the two beautiful happy ladies who welcomed everyone and the waiters who always had a big smile for you.
There is nothing I could complain about the snorkelling was amazing, we had a wonderful BBQ on the beach under the stars it was all just perfect.
If you want peace, quiet and tranquillity this the place to come ????
