Great Place

by munidupi

We rented cabin #15 for 5 days, it was confortable and clean. The service was excellent, very near town. The beds and pillows were comfortable. The cabin was big enough for us (3 couples). They made sure we had fresh towels everyday and coffee too!!!

Nice place to stay with some drawbacks

Make sure you pay attention to the photos and description because when it says “sleeps 8 adults” it doesn’t not mean with privacy. There are two beds in the loft, one bedroom with a closing door and a pull out sofa. We made it work (three couples with children) but it was not ideal.

Still, the place was clean though under stocked. There was only a tiny partially full (Thank trial sized- smaller than what you could buy in a grocery store) bottle of dish soap. When you remember that it is supposed to accommodate 8 adults, it was a ridiculously small amount. There was a partial roll of paper towels. One single dishwasher pod. No coffee filters. Obviously, we had to supply the food, but it would have been nice if the kitchen had a reasonable amount of cleaning supplies.

While the listing includes a fireplace as an amenity (which we were very much looking forward to using on a chilly rainy night after a day in the mountains, there was a note on it dated from June that it was dangerous to use. If it had just broken, we would have understood, but to neglect fixing a potentially dangerous gas fireplace for several months is irresponsible. The note in the fireplace was not even obvious.
We were given a credit to our bill, which I have taken into account in the number of stars for the review.

We did enjoy our stay. The rooms were clean. There was a nice fire pit (five outdoor chairs for a lodge that advertises that it accommodates 8) and propane grill. The decor was very fitting for the ADKs and we all liked it. There were three televisions. The stairs to the loft are very steep and might be difficult for young children or anyone with difficulty walking. They do have traction treads which made it easier.

Nothing looked shabby or worn out as hotels often do. Everything was in new condition and looked great. The air smelled fresh. The pull out couch was reportedly not comfortable, but the beds were very comfortable. The loft beds even had flannel sheets which was a nice touch.
