Outside is the big Clarion sign advertising their BISTRO, BAR, AND RESTAURANT. They do not exist here. "We're gonna get one in here soon." The rooms won't win any awards either. There are no pleasant memories here, except leaving in the morning.

I so wanted to give this hotel a good review because the staff were very nice, but I can’t do it. This establishment looks nice on the outside: sufficiently lighted, parking lot well laid out, nice shrubbery. It is conveniently located for all we needed to do. Lobby is large and pleasant looking, but pretty dated. Breakfast room is quite large. The clerk was friendly. Walking toward our room, we noticed how old, dated, and unclean the carpet looked. The elevator was very quick, but the floor of it was very worn and dirty looking, like it had never been cleaned. The key card took wizard skills to open the door. During our stay of several days, the finagling of the key card sometimes worked on the third time, but often took a dozen tries. Our second floor suite was on the end, and pleasingly large. It was sadly outdated in furnishings, the carpets were badly stained in numerous places, and looked as if the room had never been thoroughly cleaned. The bedroom door had holes in it, big ones. There were four lamps in the bedroom, but only one worked. Thinking it was the bulbs, we informed the front desk, and someone soon delivered a couple of bulbs to our room. Upon further investigation, we learned that three of the four were unplugged, and it took some effort to get them plugged in due to receptacle locations, and cords down behind the bed (it was filthy back there). The third lamp had no place to plug it in. The bed was very comfortable, and the room was pretty quiet. We had a balcony, which was useless as it was very narrow, and had no seats. The shower took some figuring out. We travel extensively, and so are used to various types of facets, but this was the first to turn to the middle to get hot water. The bedroom portion of the suite just could not cool down enough, although the living/ dining part was pleasant enough. The first day, housekeeping consisted of replacing towels only. Second day, I asked her to please also empty the waste baskets. Third day, I requested a complete room clean, plus replacement of the coffee condiments packages. Returned to the room, to find a used washcloth hanging in the shower, and one less towel than before. The pool area is nice, and I enjoyed it; however, the decorative plantings were overgrown with weeds. Breakfast was fine. I loved the spaciousness, and the layout of this room, but no way I will return unless the whole place gets a remodel, and staff is trained in proper cleaning and maintenance procedures.
