Overview

This historic, luxury boutique hotel is housed inside a former mansion. Guests have complimentary use of the house car that can take guest to area attractions. The concierge service is happy to set up a picnic or day at the beach and there are complimentary bicycles that guests can use to explore Newport as well. The guestrooms and villas are unique designed and feature a gas fireplace, flat screen television, wet bar, bottled water and a coffee maker. Complimentary Wi-Fi is available throughout the property as well. The onsite restaurants serve lunch and dinner.

Beautiful and comfortable inn with a view

I would stay here again and again. Everyone was very nice and helpful, warm and sincere. If you're visiting the Newport mansions, it's nice to then stay in one. The place has a welcoming, warm, home-like vibe. It's right at the end of the Cliff Walk, so very convenient! It has beautiful views of the water, though my room with the blinds they used on the angled window made it hard to see. It's also quite pricey. Definitely great for a romantic getaway, weddings, or even if you just need an escape.

Romantic getaway

The Chanler is a gilded age house with beautiful artwork throughout. We stayed at the Louis XVI room that was exquisite with a superb view of the bay from the private balcony. The staff are very professional and courteous.
