Everyone dreams of vacationing on their very own private island. The Castaway Island in Fiji will make those dreams come true. Family Beach Bures (Fijian villas) sleep up to ten guests and come complete with a refrigerator and air conditioner. For guests who don’t plan to cook in their bures, the Water’s Edge Restaurant, Nuku Marau, Sundowner Bar, and Restaurant 1808 provide a wide array of dining options. The kid’s club gives parents time to explore the island on their own. Popular adult activities include sky diving, kite boarding, and swimming with sharks. Friendlier animal encounters are available for the kids.

We traveled on a day trip which was reasonably priced.
The meal we had in the restaurant was excellent, two courses and well presented and tasty.
We were a bit to find the adults only pool really wasn't as we were really hoping for a quiet swim. It seems children can swim there if they are respectful. That's fine (depends on your definition of respectful) but advertise as a family pool. The advertising also implied good snorkeling close to shore .. if it is there I didn't find it.
The beach looks beautiful.
I'm not sure I would enjoy staying there for more than a day.

We had 6 nights on castaway island Bure #6 which was an island bure but had a water view and so close to north beach and kids club, we could not fault anything. The staff are all amazing, the accommodation was excellent and well serviced daily. And the food was delicious. We purchased the full board option and found this a great option as we could eat at any restaurant and it was all included no matter how many times you wanted to eat during the day. We would highly recommend this resort to anyone. Families included. The kids club is great our 9 yr old went everyday made some friends and we didn’t see him much during the day and it is open until 10 pm every night. You can take bottled wine on to the island and consume in your room or take a bottle to dinner and pay a corkage fee which is about $30 FJD. We purchased some duty free and hubby bought some beer at the port and took over. Small fridge in room but isn’t very cold. You can get ice buckets from the bar though. We will visit again and next time stay for 8 - 10 nights. As 6 nights didn’t seem enough. I was sad to leave. We look forward to returning next year as we lived everything.
