Overview

Not a frill in sight, but the Castaway Beach Inn is loaded is located directly on the beach and is easy on the wallet. Guestrooms offer one queen or two queen beds and some have a kitchenette while several have a mini-fridge only. All have a flat-screen. The property has a small outdoor pool near the wide beach and a pool bar. (Many beach inns and resorts include a “resort fee” on the final bill. Ask about the resort fee in advance to avoid sticker shock.)

Castaway Beach Inn is 13-miles to Ripley’s Aquarium, 13-miles to the Children’s Museum of South Carolina, 14-miles to the Myrtle Beach SkyWheel, 12-miles to the Sea Captain’s House Restaurant, and 13-miles to Wonder Works.

Good location but could use some updating.

Stayed at Castaways for a recent family trip. When we first arrived tbe unit was very warm and there was a fan as the A/C which looks like it's 20 years old was not keeping up. The unit smelled like strong febreeze and was musty. There are no comforters on the beds, just a blanket and an extra top sheet. After running the a/c full open for the rest of the day, the unit was finally a comfortable temperature but never got really cool. The lamp shades have rust on them and the curtains have holes.
However, the place is clean just old and in need of some upgrades. The pool and the little ocean front bar is nice and everyone who works is nice and helpful. The price was good for a beach front property with a pool and bar. If you're looking for fancy, this is not it. But it's a good place for a quick family trip on a budget. But really, buy some lamps.

Great Time in North Myrtle

The staff are super friendly and nice. The location is great, right on the water and nearby to mini golf courses and restaurants. Overall, My friends and I had a great time while we were staying at the Castaway Beach Inn.
