Overview

Cassa Times Square Hotel occupies a fairly quiet street in Hell’s Kitchen, seemingly removed from the hustle and bustle of New York City. Yet, it’s within easy walking distance of Times Square, a 7-minute walk from a subway stop, and close to three major transportation hubs: Penn Station, Port Authority and the Lincoln Tunnel.

Opened in 2014, the deluxe property offers both hotel rooms (on the first four floors) and residences (floors 5 to 12). The hotel’s simplistic rooms are packed with valued amenities for families, namely outlets (several!), iPads and complimentary Wi-Fi and on-demand movies.

Perhaps the hotel’s best feature, however, is its kindhearted staff. Guests are warmly greeted by everyone at the hotel — particularly the doorman and front desk personnel — who kindly welcome guests to fruit-infused water, hot tea and fresh fruit, and provide suggestions for excursions in the Big Apple.

Guestrooms feature a chic, minimalist style, yet they're packed with amenities -- multiple outlets, iPads, free Wi-Fi, bathrobes, coffeemakers, mini-bars (no alcohol), umbrellas and 48-inch, flat-screen TVs with complimentary, on-demand movies (a nice feature for kids after a busy day in the city). Guestrooms are also equipped with the usual suspects: irons and ironing boards, safes, hairdryers and alarm clocks.

Connecting rooms, cribs and rollaway beds are available with advance request; there is $35-per-night charge for the rollaways. Many rooms offer shower/tub combinations, though you should be sure to request when booking your stay.

Best place/space/service and amenities.

In a time where rooms are more expensive for less space...here you get a true room for a great price.

And shout out to JESSY who has ALWAYS been welcoming, gracious and helpful during our stays here. She is a gem and hope you get to meet her as well during your stay!

Just ok

Pros - check in efficient and friendly. Room is a good size and reasonably clean. Shower was very good but bathroom small. 10 min walk to broadway and Times Square and good all round central location. Breakfast included in price was good. Good lift service.

Cons- No signage, hard to spot. No luggage storage but sent 2 blocks to pay 16 dollars for 2 hours. Wooden utensils in breakfast area.

Good hotel overall but will not return due to luggage storage issue

Family Activities

Rooftop Garden Terrace
After exploring the Empire State Building, Central Park and Broadway, head to the hotel's rooftop garden terrace for relaxation and city views. In the summertime, croquet and other games are often hosted -- perfect for kids. There's also a hot tub.

Toys
The hotel rolls out a wagon with toys and trinkets for young children; inquire about this at check-in.

Family Dining

The hotel doesn't have an onsite restaurant currently, but it partners with HK Café next door to offer guests room service and a 10-percent discount on meals at the restaurant. HK Café serves breakfast, lunch and dinner, along with brunch on weekends.

As of 2015, plans for a hotel bar and restaurant are in the works.
