Families will love a stay at the Carriage House Inn when visiting Calgary because there is something for everyone. Kids will love the outdoor, heated pool that is open year-round, while adults will love the video gambling room (where kids aren’t permitted). Even your pets will like this hotel, where they’re greeted with homemade treats created in the in-house bakery (which also makes delicious people treats).
There are several onsite restaurants to choose from, and kids are provided with activity coloring books at the table. Free Wi-Fi and free parking add to the nice amenities here. And the kids will surely make friends with the hotel’s resident birds, who can always be found in the lobby, ready to say hello.

I liked this hotel overall. The pool looked amazing and even though it's not downtown there are a few pubs in the area, which is convenient. Customer service was really good.
The main downside was that my room was a bit dated - especially the bathroom. If the bathroom was improved I think this would be a 5 star review especially because the price of the hotel is so good.
One pet peeve I have: the hotel uses those hangers that you can't take off the hanger rod. I hate those!
If you're coming with a family - this is a 4 star. But I rated it a 3 mostly because it's not quite at the level it could be for business travel. But it has potential!

This is a strange hotel from many aspects, its clean tidy and pleasant, as well as quiet, with lots of parking. However its an eclectic mix of styles, and service is not great. Some of the rooms have been refurbished, but the bathrooms don't seem to have been, and they are very very small. Breakfast is weird, as they charge you for the buffet even if you don't have it, and then charge you if you order off the menu as well. Reception tried to explain this policy but failed miserably, but did make an adjustment. Heated outside pool and gym are nice touches
Family Activities
Outdoor Pool
The outdoor, heated pool is open year-round, so don't forget your bathing suit! The outdoor pool is surrounded by exterior walls, so it protects swimmers from cold winter winds. The kids will love the pool fountains, too. Lounge chairs and tables with umbrellas surround the pool area, and pool towels are provided. The pool is open 24 hours and there are no lifeguards on duty.
Family Dining
The Restaurant
Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, The Restaurant (keeping things simple with the name) also runs its own in-house bakery. The hot breakfast buffet runs from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. and there is a Sunday brunch as well. Kids (and parents) will love the activity book and crayons provided, too!
The homemade breads, pies, cookies and cakes are divine and served at The Restaurant, as well as at a small counter in the lobby open 24 hours for those late-night baked good needs. The Restaurant is also a Kosher kitchen and will accommodate any food allergies.
Peanuts Pubic House
Serving lunch and dinner, this sports bar/casual restaurant offers kid-friendly dining. The game is always on, with 16 large, flat-screen televisions, and the menu features burgers, sandwiches, pasta and more.
Ninety Thirty Dining Lounge
Children are permitted at this fine-dining lounge, which features a sophisticated dÃÆ'©cor. Menu items include things like short ribs, filet mignon, lamb and salmon.
