Made our reservation on an online booking site, received a confirmation and when we arrived there was no record of our reservation. They would not honor the online price so we paid $58 more to stay. The room was fine, a bit worn, but clean. The beds were ok, the breakfast was your regular free hotel breakfast. The hotel is close to downtown, walking distance to the Lincoln Presidential museum. However, it is also close to a homeless shelter and the homeless were begging everywhere. We've been to Springfield several times, and wanted to stay closer to downtown this time. I will most likely look elsewhere next time we go . There was no one at the front desk each time we went thru the lobby. The night were checked in the front desk girl was actually upstairs while we were waiting at the desk. Other times the front desk person was out front smoking. Not a horrible place but didn't leave a pleasant impression on us.

Has become my go-to in Springfield for economy. Rooms are comfy, breakfast is sufficient, and the price is right. It's not quite as convenient as the places closer to downtown and the Capitol, but closer than the chains on the outskirts off the highway. It's an easy walk to this hotel from the Amtrak, and if weather is OK, not too bad a hike into downtown. Kind of far from the Capitol complex -- but they have a free little shuttle bus that you can arrange to take!
