Overview

This complex-style resort features all the comforts of home in a beautiful beachfront setting. From the grounds, you’ll be able to look across the Caribbean to see two islands, and a 300-meter walk will bring you to a beach with deck chairs and a shower. When you’re tired of the ocean, switch to the outdoor swimming pool and lounge under the palm trees while the kids cannonball into the water (some swim equipment for children is available as well).
Units, which sleep two, four, or six people, are equipped with air conditioning and fully equipped kitchens. Guests of the resort can be as independent as they like — cooking for themselves, coming and going as they please — or take advantage of hotel services. The helpful staff are happy to assist you in organizing tours and activities, take care of your laundry, and bring made-to-order food to your door. Every morning, a hearty breakfast is available (for a fee), featuring croissants, jam, fruit juice, and more.

We had such a delightful apartment. The bedroom was reasonably spacious and there was an outside terrace area under cover to cook and eat. We loved the feeling of being outdoors but having all the comfort of home. The staff were friendly and the pool a good size. We arrived with food for 5 days and luckily we did as we didn't have transport and there is only a tiny shop nearby. The buses seemed to arrive on time which the locals were surprised about. The fabulous beach down at Fort Royal Hotel was an easy walk down hill and they have a very good restaurant (that isn't too expensive) that you can use. Also there is a bar there and music in the evenings. This beach is also used for the series "Death in Paradise". We would definitely come back to "Caribes Bonheur".

Stayed here over new year’s holiday. Guadeloupe is lovely and this part of it has beautiful beaches, amazing sunsets, and a fun laid-back vibe. But it’s very « French » and not always the warmest welcome for tourists. However, the staff at Caraïbes Bonheur couldn’t have been nicer! Really warm, understanding, and accommodating.
There are two buildings: Caraïbes Royal, off the main road, with a big pool and steps to the beach at Fort-Royal; and Caraïbes Bonheur, up the hill, with sweeping views over the Caribbean Sea. We stayed at both; it’s convenient to be near the beach at the former, but we preferred the breeze and the views of the latter.
The rooms are clean and comfortable, not luxurious but just right for holiday rentals, with apartments or studios, with kitchenettes. Practical for breakfast or quick meals. Best to have a car to get to restaurants in Deshaies or pizzerias along the main road, and to visit the many beaches nearby (Grande-Anse, La Perle, etc.).
