A stay at the Candlewood Suites won’t strike you as too different from being at home (in a good way): you’ll get to cook your own meals in the full kitchen, wash clothes in the guest laundry, have the option of separate sleeping and living areas, and borrow items like crockpots, waffle makers, games, fans, doggy bowls, and more from the lending library so you have less to pack. That said, the tradeoff of the at-home feel is a lack of hotel-specific luxuries like a free breakfast or pool–so have the family evaluate which is more important to them.

I had the opportunity to stay at this property on two different occasions in the past two months. The first time, I was greeted by J.R. He helped check in a coworker and myself. He was kind, friendly, and wanted to make sure everything was OK with the stay.
The rooms, of course, are large. A nearly full kitchen, nice-sized bathroom, living room area (that actually feels like a living room), and dining room really make it feel like you're not in a cookie-cutter hotel.
My next visit to town had me staying there again, and I was very impressed J.R. remembered me. He was as kind and polite the first time, and helped me get a late check-out this go-round.
Overall...a very highly recommended property!

I travel to Springfield several times a year and always stay for at least two weeks at a time - sometimes for longer. This hotel has been my go-to place for several years now. It is comfortable, far cleaner than other extended stay hotels and as close to being home as any hotel can be. I love the kitchen amenities and the living space set ups. I have been able to relax and work in my room/suite as though I was at home, as well as being able to prepare my own healthy meals for a fraction of the price I would have to pay for eating unhealthy restaurant food for weeks at a time.
The staff is also great. I especially want to mention JR, who works at the front desk. Seeing him when I arrive after a long day of travel is always a pleasure - he immediately makes me feel welcome and takes care of any issues quickly, effectively, and with a very upbeat demeanor. His customer service, at all hours of day or night, is top notch, and is one of the mean reasons I keep coming back.
Summary: for an extended stay option in Springfield, I have not found a better combination of reasonable price, cleanliness, comfort, amenities, and responsive staff.
