High in the hills above Homer is this charming German-themed B&B. It features several cottages hidden away in the trees that are ideal for a small family. Rooms include a queen bed and twin bed, along with furniture built by the owners. The award-winning gardens are a big highlight, and you’ll be encouraged to enjoy the several acres of flowers, fruit, fountains, walkways and stunning panoramic views of Kachemak Bay. Brigitte, who is originally from Germany, serves up one of the freshest, heartiest breakfasts in Homer. Homemade sourdough bread and jams, blueberry waffles, smoked salmon, omelettes with homegrown eggs, Swiss muesli and fresh fruit salad will fill you up until dinner. There aren’t a lot of other amenities here. It’s simply a unique and beautiful accommodation.
Brigitte’s Bavarian B&B is located 5 miles from downtown Homer. In 15 minutes you can be on Bishop’s Beach, or touring the Alaska Islands and Oceans Visitors Center. There are nature trails, where you might see a moose or bald eagle, that lead to wetlands and tidal pools right in the heart of town. Twenty minutes from your B&B, you can be hitting the shops and restaurants on the Homer Spit, or boarding a whale watching cruise at the harbor. Homer is the Halibut Fishing Capital of the World, and the harbor is also the place to hire a fishing charter. After a long day of exploring, Brigitte’s Bavarian B&B is a warm and inviting home for the night. The beautiful gardens, unique furnishings and home-cooked breakfast make it a good choice for your family vacation to Homer.

Brigitte and WIllie were wonderful hosts. The BnB was full of character including the hosts. Willie cooked amazing breakfasts while a bald eagle perched on the tree outside the window overlooking the bay down below. It's not the Marriott - But this is Alaska. And we were very pleased with the accomadations. It was clean and comfortable. With the added benefit of some entertaining and informative conversation with folks who've made a unique life for their family in Homer for over 30 years.

Brigitte and her husband, Willy, provide their only little paradise in Homer, AK. Think Tolkien accommodations with cozy rooms, endless flowers and gardens and astounding views. Breakfast was always delicious and they were happy to supply us with delicious bagged lunches for our outings. The icing on the cake is Brigitte and her husband. They are a delight to talk with and are full of humor and fun.
