With some of the biggest cabins in the area, Box Canyon Cabins are perfect for large families. The Moose Cabin alone holds three queen beds, a twin rollaway, and a queen sleeper sofa, ensuring everyone a comfortable place to sleep. All cabins come with full kitchens, including refrigerator, microwave, stovetop, oven, toaster and dishes and utensils. Other amenities include a satellite TV and free Wi-Fi. The cabins are hidden in the trees around a central pond and fire pit. There’s an onsite laundromat and a picnic area with BBQ grill.
The cabins are located in a beautiful river valley 5 miles north of downtown Seward. There are two restaurants nearby if you don’t feel like cooking in your cabin. Continuing down the highway for another 8 miles brings you to the Exit Glacier Nature Center, where you can access several trails to view the glacier. You’ll find shops and restaurants back in Seward, as well as the family favorite Alaska Sealife Center, home to a variety of native sea creatures. Seward is a great place to find a guide for a day trip into Kenai Fjords National Park or a fishing charter on Resurrection Bay. For its secluded location and huge family-friendly cabins, the Box Canyon Cabins are a great choice for your Alaskan family vacation.

My wife and I had to change our Alaska itinerary due to a large fire on the Kenai Peninsula and that meant finding a place to stay in Seward. Box Canyon came highly recommended and we are glad to have stayed here. The property is just off the Seward Highway and near Exit Glacier. It consist of several cabins in an area surrounded by trees. It’s so beautiful and quiet. Our cabin was updated and spotless. The grounds include two fire pits, a grill and a small water feature that a creek flows through. Also a children’s play area and laundry. It’s a place that’s perfect for couples or a family stay while visiting Seward. We loved it here.

We had an amazing 2 night stay here when visiting Seward. We (family of 4, including 2 teens) stayed in the Fisherman’s cabin and it was clean, spacious, and cozy - a perfect break from a typical hotel room as the 'upscale' cabin had a great Alaskan feel to it.
It is located just outside downtown, a 5-7 minute drive if you have a car, which we did. It is also convenient to drive to Exit Glacier from here, which I highly recommend you drive and hike to!
The property is beautiful and has a great fire pit / pond / relaxation area to chill at. It has a laundry room as well.
The owners are the nicest, most helpful folks in town! They went above and beyond to help us with recommendations and activity booking!
We will definitely be back next time we get to AK!
