The Buckminster Is in an ok location. Close to public transport and Fenway Park and a couple of pubs. The reception area/Lobby was lovely. I also liked the plaques explaining the history of the building. Room was big. A Safe in room.
There were a lot of things we did not like. A/C did not work properly, broken light bulb in room not repaired, after reporting to reception. On the whole the room was grubby, windows dirty, very noisy with traffic 24hrs. Old, tired and badly decorated room, old and tired carpet, walk on it barefoot? No thanks! The walls were all uneven from previous repairs, bare wires, cheap badly mounted electrical conduit on walls. Bathroom had uneven and cracked sealer, uneven tiling, loose uneven handles/racks. Cracked/broken floor tiles and stained tiles. Very noisy toilets/drains from other rooms. Sheets and beds/mattress not good quality. Sheets not changed when dirty, not changed often enough. TV did not work properly. I understand Boston is an expensive city, but we paid well over €1000 for a 5 night stay with no breakfast. This hotel was not worth that price. I do not like leaving negative reviews, but I felt it was necessary on this occasion. Stayed in October 2019

Visited Boston the weekend when the Red Sox played against the NY Yankees. This was my husband's birthday present and so I wanted to make sure he enjoyed the visit to this great town! I searched around for a hotel that was within close proximity to Fenway Park but also with a restaurant. So I found Hotel Buckminster which offered all that and more. The hotel is older but well maintained and clean. Knowing that it was my husband's birthday trip the staff accommodated us with a room that had a view of Fenway Park. It was so very much appreciated as it made my husband so happy!
