We were traveling to southwest Virginia and looking for a pet-tolerant property for a one-night stay. My wife saw several positive reviews of the Bolling Wilson Hotel and made our reservation. We arrived around seven in the evening and were greeted most warmly by a charming young lady at the reception desk. The nearby restaurant and bar was obviously a popular local watering hole. We learned later that it is a highly-recognized center of genuinely fine dining.
We knew we had picked a special place when we were given a small bag of goodies and toys for our dog, along with a water dish. The room was charming and very comfortable. The climate control unit was quiet! Everything was fresh and spotless. And the quiet atmosphere was most welcome. We both got a great night's rest.
I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this lovely property to my best friend. Five stars all around.

Clearly a thoughtful restoration of a historic spot. This hotel is charming, comfortable (best bed I’ve slept on in a hotel maybe ever!), beautifully decorated and located in the center of town. Why stay in a standard highway hotel when a three-minute drive from I-81 or I-77 brings you to this oasis. You will be glad you did! And the restaurant in the hotel is fabulous!
