When entering a hotel you immediately realize the quality of a management. In this hotel the ratio between capable and unmotivated staff is approximately 50:50. This is a clear indication for bad management. Another sign: The maintenance of this world-class facility is lousy. No doubt, they used far too much gold for our spartan calvinistic taste. But style is highly subjective and the marble work in this hotel is unquestionable outstanding to mention just one aspect of this impressive facility.
We could criticize the pebble beach or the inexistent minibar “service”. Our main reproach and reason for the average rating, however, is the bad management visible in every detail of the hotel. Windsurfing is promoted on the "The Bodrum by Paramount" webpage. At the Watersport Center, of course, there is no such equipment available. The hotel staff suggests a surf spot some 40 minute’s drive from the hotel. Unfortunately, they do not even understand that there is a problem. This is the case with every, more serious, problem you may face here. It's a shame for the 50% staff who do a great job. Special praise deserve the men and women working in the pastry department (baklava, confectionary, ice cream). The high quality of Turkish pastry is famous. But even by those high standards they do an outstanding job.
