We stayed two night in the Sunrise Casitas Cottage. The room is spacious with living area, large bedroom and huge walk in shower and tub area. Lovely view from the back windows and porch. Breakfast in the main house was very good as well. However House Keeping is sorely lacking. They put a new roll of TP in the bathroom and washed a few dishes, but that was it! No made bed, NO new soap, OR cleaned bathroom. The grounds around the main house are well groomed but not anywhere else. I understand wanting the wild foliage look, but you can achieve that look and still keep things somewhat trimmed. As far as finding your way around the property, the names of the rooms/cottages are right AT those properties, but they need signage directing you TO said properties. Easy to get a little lost (especially on an evening walk). I would also never go again in the Spring or Summer. It gets very hot in Durango, although there was a window AC unit (swamp cooler), the room was still kind of warm. Also, if you have a bee or wasp allergy, DEFINITELY visit in late Fall or Winter. We couldn’t even enjoy the lake or our nice back porch until dark or first thing in the morning, because of being swarmed by stinging insects. Aspects of this place are lovely, but it needs work. Also note....WiFi only worked in the main house, not in our cabin....and downtown Durango is a good 20/25 min from this place....which works well if your are looking for peace & quiet.

Spectacular place!! We used river house for the rehearsal dinner location. Brought all our own food. Beautiful house right along side a tiny river.
We also used upper and lower spring house locations for additional accommodations. Beautiful views from spectacular decks. A quick trail walk brings you to the breakfast location. Home cooked breakfast along with fruit, granola, juices and coffee. This rustic place is beautifully maintained.
