It was quite a stretch to call Sutter House a PLUS. Small room, out dated decor and remodel, hole in bathroom wall, what we swear was a drain in ceiling above tub, ceiling tiles from the 80’s, water damage and paint cracked ceiling (ceiling drain?) dirty carpet. Just not a nice place. Especially for a PLUS. Guess you’re paying for location.

Hotel is at a convenient location, walking distance to Capital Park, the Cathedral, DOCO shopping mall, Old Sacramento, Memorial Auditorium, restaurants and bars.
Some staff are OK while others not that helpful. I had two separate incidents where I needed help but couldn't get the help I needed. i) I had an early flight on Sunday, so I asked front desk what traffic is typically like on an early Sunday morning before I booked an airport pick-up. It's a simple question but the lady couldn't give me a straight forward answer; ii) a day after checking out, I noticed via online banking, the amount charged to my credit card was different from the amount on my receipt, so I called the hotel. Instead of listening to what I needed to say, the lady who answered the phone kept on talking over me, interrupting me and finally put me on hold. I got inpatient waiting so I hung up and called again. I got someone else who explained to me why there was a difference in the payment. Apparently the hotel charges a $75 fee when a guest checks in and refunds the amount when checks out. I wish they could explain to me during checking in.
