Great location but not up to par

This older hotel is in need of an update. I had a room facing the ocean but the decor gave the room a seedy reddish glow. Housekeeping missed my room the fist day. Front desk service was great. Complimentary breakfast was adequate but the slop sink and cleaning chemicals by the coffee and food is off-putting.

Misrepresentation of the Brand

Best Western Plus Sandcastle Beachfront Hotel is not a great representation of the Best Western Plus brand. The rooms are very outdated with stained, torn, and cracked furniture and linens. The bathroom is extremely small and had sagging ceiling tiles with water damage stains. Not to mention the cracked tiles and spider webs in the corners. The front desk and staff's customer service was great in spite of the conditions of the rooms. I was switched to five different rooms before accepting the fate of not being able to switch anymore.
