There are two types of families: those who love all inclusive resorts, and those who don’t. If you’re part of the latter group, condo resorts are an excellent vacation option, especially since they offer fully equipped kitchens where you can cook (and save some money), washers and dryers (so you don’t have to do 25 loads of laundry when you arrive home), and some of the same perks you’d find at a mega resort, such as swimming pools and water sports equipment. Considering a condo hotel for your next trip to the Caribbean? These are our favorite Caribbean condo resorts for families.
1. Ocean Club Resorts – Turks and Caicos
In Turks and Caicos, Ocean Club Resorts (Ocean Club and Ocean Club West) offer condo-style accommodations with multiple bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, washers and dryers, and private patios or balconies. Each condo is individually owned, so no two are the same. The resort also offers an outdoor swimming pool, bike and water sports rentals, and for kids and families in particular, a scavenger hunt and amenities such as highchairs, bed rails and babysitting services. Don’t miss Solana, which offers delicious meals and killer views of world-famous Grace Bay Beach.
2. Secret Harbour Beach Resort – St. Thomas
Secret Harbour Beach Resort really does feel like a secret, tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Charlotte Amalie and the St. Thomas cruise port. What’s more is it offers condo-style accommodations with full kitchens and balconies; two onsite dining options; and a dive center where you can rent kayaks, paddleboards and snorkel gear. Best of all is the resort’s quiet stretch of sand and surf.
3. Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove – St. Thomas
Another condo resort in St. Thomas, Marriott’s Frenchman’s Cove offers luxurious villas for families. The multi-bedroom villas are equipped with fully equipped kitchens and private balconies overlooking Pacquereau Bay. Perks include a secluded beach, onsite market, outdoor pool and poolside grille. In 2020, the resort’s sister property, Marriott’s Frenchman’s Reef, will reopen.
4. Caribbean Club Luxury Boutique Hotel – Grand Cayman
You can’t beat the views of Grand Cayman‘s Seven Mile Beach at Caribbean Club Luxury Boutique Hotel. This intimate resort offers 37 individually owned and furnished condos with three or four bedrooms, fully equipped kitchens, washers and dryers and patios or balconies. Rates include daily housekeeping, turndown service, and access to an outdoor pool that overlooks the teal-blue ocean. There’s also an onsite restaurant.
5. Infiniti Blu Luxury Ocean Front Condos – Dominican Republic
Infiniti Blu offers a wide range of condos that sleep up to four, five, seven or eight guests. All have fully equipped kitchens and some have Jacuzzi tubs. The resort has an infinity pool and a larger activity pool with a waterslide. This Caribbean condo resort is located near Cabarete on the North Coast of the Dominican Republic.
6. Grand Isle Resort and Spa – Bahamas
In the Bahamas, Grand Isle Resort and Spa offers ultra-luxurious villas that range in size from one to four bedrooms. Each one offers a gourmet kitchen (and the option to order groceries or hire a private chef), a private terrace, and—get this—your own golf cart to access the resort’s restaurants, beaches, and golf course. The resort also offers packages for guests who want to visit the wild pigs on Great Exuma.
7. White Sands Beach Condos – Barbados
At White Sands Beach Condos in Barbados, families will find one- and two-bedroom villas with all the comforts of home, as well as three-bedroom penthouses with private plunge pools and terraces. Steps from the ocean, the resort offers a swimming pool and water sports equipment.
8. The Somerset on Grace Bay – Turks and Caicos
The Somerset on Grace Bay caters to families of all sizes with villas that range from one to five bedrooms. Each unit has a gourmet kitchen and a private patio or balcony overlooking the lushly landscaped gardens, sparkling pools, or Grace Bay Beach. Complimentary amenities include snorkel equipment, kayaks, bicycles, croquet, and for children ages 5 to 12, access to the Caicos Kids Club.
