The Bernardus Lodge & Spa is amazing beautiful setting in Carmel Valley. The service and attendance to detail is the finest in valley. Food at Lucia is amazing . And the views of mountains and vineyard is stunning .

Bernardus Lodge is a very pretty resort. Just twenty minutes from Carmel-By-The-Sea, it feels like an oasis in the countryside. Our enormous opulent suite was surrounded by flower gardens and vineyards filled with songbirds and wild rabbits. It was a treat to sit outside on our very private patio enjoying the view with a glass of wine and the fire table keeping us warm. Although the property has a fairly large number of rooms, it did not feel at all crowded and was pleasantly quiet. A wedding took place the evening we were there but we barely heard a thing.
The hotel entry area is beautifully landscaped and particularly pretty. As our room was not ready when we arrived, we relaxed with (another) glass of wine on the outdoor sofas near the entrance and watched the hummingbirds frequenting the flowerbeds -- so peaceful. My husband loved the sauna, steam bath and pool of the spa. All of the staff we encountered were terrific, and room service was professional and prompt. Our stay exceeded expectations on every level.
