Gave it Another Try. . . It Didn't Fly
This was a business trip that didn't afford a lot of time in a hotel room, but you know. . . . when a person IS in the room they want to just kick back, maybe watch a little TV, take a nice relaxing shower, and like, crash.
Well, it was all good till I decided to take the shower. The mix valve was totally shot and would not allow cold water to mix with hot. So, you can imagine what kind of shower that turned out to be. Far from relaxing, it was like, a hot towel cleansing.
So if that wasn't bad enough, the next morning I reported it to the desk. No immediacy, not even an offer to change rooms for the next two nights. Well. A day later I went to take a shower, thinking "I didn't hear from them, it must be fixed!" Stupid me. So, no shower.
Again, went to the desk to check out and reported it again. I was met with "I'm sorry, let me check." Sure enough, the problem was still on the maintenance list. No offer to comp, even a little discount, and certainly no offer to change rooms. Of course, by then it was checkout and it wouldn't have mattered.
So, the annual experiment fails again. I've had better response from the so-called disounted chains. Seriously. So, I'm moving on. It just didn't fly.
