Those who don’t want a Western-themed home away from home can stay at the Bavarian Inn, a European-style resort close to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, and more of the attractions you came to see. The inn is quiet and clean, has two playgrounds and both an indoor and outdoor pool, and provides complimentary breakfast plus “cookie happy hour” (free fresh-baked cookies and milk at 3:30). Have dinner at the On the Rocks Chophouse, which is more of a steakhouse than a Bavarian restaurant as some guests hope. Book the family suite to ensure that everyone has plenty of room; the accommodations are simple but comfortable.

Delightful! Best hotel we've EVER stayed at!

Everything I'd imagined and more! Quaint, old-fashioned yet fresh, family-friendly. Pools, tennis courts, board games you can borrow overnight, yard games like Jenga, Connect 4, ladder golf. Cookie happy hour every day with warm cookies and milk! Hammocks hanging in back where you could take a load off and gaze up into the pine trees. Free postcards to send greetings to loved ones. Beautiful outdoor eating areas. They even welcomed our dog! My two teens LOVED IT. In fact they requested a day off sight-seeing just so we could "hang out" at the hotel. ABSOLUTELY BLISSFUL!!! The room was comfortable and clean, the pancake and yogurt bar was yummy (they thought of all the extras, like berries, Nutella, whipping cream!) Positive messages and vibes all around. The staff was warm and so welcoming. Truly, the best hotel experience we've EVER had. We can't wait to go back!!!

Great place to stay in the Black Hills

Clean room, unique yogurt and pancake breakfast bar, gorgeous location! Very friendly and helpful staff. Central location to Mount Rushmore, Custer State Park, Deadwood, etc. Definitely will stay here again when in this area!
