Just returned from 9 nights at the Barcelo Maya Tropical with my teenage children and sister. I cannot recommend the hotel highly enough. The staff were amazing, the room was cleaned every day, the food at all the many different restaurants, snack bars and specialist restaurants was amazing. Loads of different choice every day. We did book our specialist restaurants as soon as we arrived just in case they booked up. We loved the Italian, Mexican, Spanish and Steakhouse in that order. Just one note - they told us the only thing you have to pay for is wine - but that is bottles, house wine is still free which we were happy with. The whole place was huge, everywhere was spotlessly clean and loads of staff everywhere. My two enjoyed all the activities and if you go in the see infront of the Barcelo Palace, there are loads of turtles. Magical ! The only downside if I had to choose one is that the entertainment (which was also excellent) was only on 9.30-10.30pm.
