Overview

The Barcelo Maya Caribe is adjoined with five other hotels in the Barcelo Maya Beach Resort. Suites feature classic decor with balconies and air-conditioning. Two swimming pools and a Jacuzzi provide hours of fun for any family. Kids can also enjoy an onsite playground and a children’s club with age-appropriate fun activities daily (a teen’s club provides fun for the older kids). Seven tennis courts with complimentary equipment, a giant outdoor chess board, water sports accessories like water tricycles and kayaks round out the fun, and the family can dine in a selection of five restaurants.

The resort is currently undergoing a $45-million renovation to renovate the lobby, add news bars and new a la carte restaurants, and a new entertainment complex with sports bar, bowling alley, teen disco, new kids’ club, water park, paddle tennis courts and redesign of the 18-hole mini golf course. The renovations are expected to run through the end of 2014.

The Gym At Barceló Maya Caribe

I would just like to write a review about the gym at Barceló Maya, and the reason I'm writing a review is because of two very great individuals that work there, Fernando and Michelle.
They were very welcoming and inspiring to be around when I was working out because of they're amazing physique and kindness.
They also provided everything I needed for a great workout, from equipment to advice.

If you go on vacation to Barceló Maya, dont be lazy and hit the gym, there are great people working there.

This was my3rd time at this resort and the second year in a row. the resort is very clean and most of the staff are very good with the exception of the barmans at the pool bar at the Colonial pool
The surf at th FlowRider is amazing and Nestor is one of the best employees at this resort he is a great coach and fun guy to be around. Also Erik at the Strikers Sports bar is the best, funniest, and sociable employee at BARCELO, he made the best drinks. Erik is so efficient he can do the job of 3 employees and always with a big smile on his face.
The other great thing at BARCELO is that you can swim with sea turtles, the snorkeling at this resort is simply amazing. All in all this was a great vacation with family and friends .I'm giving it 4 stars because the rooms have to be upgraded, but they are still confortable for the few hours you spend in them. Thank you Barcelo!!!!
