The Banyan Tree Mayakoba resort is perfect for families who want a luxurious stay coupled with a fantastic location on the Yucatan Peninsula. Accommodations are very spacious and provide modern appliances. Guests can choose from a variety of poolside villas, ranging from one to three bedrooms. Families may want to stay in one of the roomier three-bedroom, three-story townhouses — fitting up to six people. Three gourmet restaurants serve Asian, Mexican and Thai delicacies.
If your family enjoys golf, check out Mayakoba’s beachfront El Camaleon Golf Club — with a course that hosted Mexico’s first PGA tours. Also, Banyan runs an ecological Mangrove Boat Tour, which brings guests closer to the local wildlife. Kids have a special program where they can join in fun activities together on a daily basis. Besides meeting other children, they will be able to play board and video games, watch movies, go on eco tours and do beach activities.

Banyan tree in mayakoba is an exceptional hotel. The villas are so private and give you a very nice space to relax. The personal pools are very large and the hot tub is an added treat. I like the vilas on the lagoon, but there are also ones on the beach. The staff is fantastic! Always smiling and friendly. The setting is very natural in the woods and makes you feel a part of nature. Love the eco tour. My only drawback to the hotel is that I think the restaurants are far too expensive for Mexico. $22.00 for guacamole in Mexico?? Really?
