With 1.8 miles of waterfront, Zuma Beach has eight parking lots and roughly 2,000 parking spaces — all of which can fill up quickly during summer months. The beach is a popular spot due to its accessibility to restrooms, restaurants and even volleyball nets.

Popular for surfing and swimming, visitors need to be alert to riptides, though there are lifeguards stationed across the beach. Rock climbing fans — even beginners — will want to explore Point Dume. Located at the end of the beach, it’s a rocky promontory that looks out onto the Pacific and is perfect for scrambling around.

Parking

Parking is free along PCH, but it’s also possible to park in a lot. Winter rates range from $3 to $8, while summer rates are higher — $8 to $10 on average, but can be as high as $15.
