The Young At Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale works to educate children and teens about art and imagination through hands-on activities and exhibits. The museum has a variety of areas for exploration, including ArtScapes, CultureScapes, GreenScapes, WonderScapes, Knight Gallery, and Bedlam Lorenz Assembly.

ArtScapes is home to The Cave, which houses images of art and its histories set to music and kids can also draw on the walls; Avenue A, which allows guests to take a simulated ride on a New York City Subway; and the Portrait Gallery, which encourages families to create their own self-portraits. CultureScapes focuses on art from regions around the world, like Asia, Africa, Latin America and Haiti. GreenScapes encourages families to think about nature and understand the environment. Kids can build structures from natural materials and recycled objects in GreenScapes. WonderScapes is for children age 4 and under and allows them to play with shapes, books, musical instruments, and more. The Knight Gallery is the museum’s changing art exhibit which changes seasonally. The Bedlam Lorenz Assembly features contemporary artists who create cutting edge art and designs. The Young At Art Museum also has outdoor exhibits and areas, like the YAA Playground and a retention pond.

Families can often attend events and programs for children and teens, such as art workshops, special evening hours, and even New Year’s Eve parties for kids, too.

The museum is open Monday through Thursday, 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., Friday and Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Admission is $14 per person, $12 for seniors ages 62 and older, $12 for Broward County residents, $11 for military families and free for members.
