This giant splash pad fountain sits just below the bluff, across the street from the Silver Beach Carousel and a short walk from Silver Beach. While toddlers and younger kids might love this spot the most, all ages will have fun here in the summer.
Free and open to the public, this 200-feet-in-diameter “fountain” sprays water 35 feet in the air through numerous jets that shoot 10,860 gallons of recycled water. Every 15 minutes, massive water cannons, situated around the circle, spray even more water into the center of the splash pad. Kids (and adults) will giggle with delight as they run back and forth through the water.
Hours
10 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily from Memorial Day to Labor Day
Things to Know/Bring
A large grassy lawn area surrounds the fountain and is a great spot to set up a beach chair or blanket and watch the fun without getting wet.
Dining
Silver Beach Pizza is located next to the splash pad, making it a fun place to visit before or after lunch (or while you wait for your pizza). A beach concession stand serving hot dogs, snacks, ice cream and hamburgers, is situated just a short walk away at Silver Beach.
Parking
The area is surrounded by paid parking lots, which often fill up quickly in the summer months. Free parking lots can be found several blocks away (up the bluff, up a large staircase), closer to the downtown area. And metered, street parking (which can be even harder to come by) also surrounds the area.
