One of the most popular retreats for calving humpback whales in winter is Bahia de Banderas. From November to March, it’s hard not to spot the fin or fluke of a whale in these waters. Head out on a whale-watching cruise and you might even spot a whale breach. Also be on the lookout for Pacific bottlenose dolphins, which love to jump in the wake of boats.
