In between all of Wellfleet’s excellent restaurants, shops, boutiques and downtown attractions, there’s a peaceful, secluded spot where many people know about, yet few really ever travel — Wellfleet Audubon Sanctuary.

The sanctuary is comprised of over five miles of beautiful trails that wind through Wellfleet’s woodlands, heath lands, salt marsh and barrier beach. Aside from enjoying the beauty outside and around the sanctuary, you can also go inside the nature center, where you’ll find two 700-gallon aquariums containing some of Wellfleet’s fresh and saltwater organisms.
