Beginning in Ventura near the intersection of 101 and 33, this bike paths extends all the way to Ojai on a paved pathway for 15 miles (roundtrip is 30 miles). The original path was part of the Southern Pacific Railroad and follows the Ventura River Trail. The path, which opened in 1999, makes a slight incline from Ventura up into the hills of Ojai, never hitting 1,000 feet; it’s a steady and nice ride for families who are active and want to take in the views.
Restrooms and water fountains are located along the tail. You can rent bikes from nearby Wheel Fun Rentals.
