Take a train to the Uetliberg, Zurich’s “house mountain.” Once there, follow a short road to the top of an overlook with marvelous views of the city. There are a few restaurants where you can get sandwiches, fondue and the like. It’s a prime spot to picnic, too. Hiking trails wind off in every direction. During the winter, you can rent wooden toboggans and sled down to the next train stop below.
