Treasure Island Beach

South Coast Highway, behind the Montage Laguna Beach, Laguna Beach, 92651, CA

Located behind the Montage Laguna Beach resort, Treasure Island Beach offers families a secluded spot for exploring tide pools, collecting shells for sandcastles or picking up unique rocks along the surf. Any treasures that kids find must stay at the beach though, as local laws prohibit the removal of shells and marine life. Treasure Island Beach is a treasure though, and one that people found early on. In 1934, the beach was used as a backdrop in the film “Treasure Island,” and in 1953 in the Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz movie, “The Long, Long Trailer.” The beach is open to the public, but don’t bring too many sand toys or coolers with you — the only way to access the sand is by sets of steep stairs. Parking is available at the Montage Laguna Beach for $15 per day.

The beach is open from dawn to dusk.
