Open daily from 8:30 a.m. to 6 p.m., weather and volcano permitting, the museum is located on Crater Rim Drive, and in its overlook, open 24 hours a day, guests may see a glowing fume cloud over the volcanoes on a dark night. The museum showcases exhibits on volcanology, including working seismographs and a study on the volcano. The museum’s large windows provide a view of the crater, and there is a gift shop. Next door to the museum is an observatory that is not open to the public.
