Reserve a tour at Theo Chocolate, the first organic and fair-trade chocolate factory in North America. Tours last an hour so, with the first half-hour in a seated room and the second half-hour in the factory itself. Both parts of the tour include several chocolate tastings — in fact, chocolate is passed around in buckets for everyone to try! Chocolate bars are also distributed to visitors at the end of the tour.
Tours are offered daily, 10 a.m. to 6 p.m., and cost $10 per person. Hairnets and closed-toe shoes (or shoe covers, provided by staff) are required (and make for funny photos). Note: Theo Chocolate doesn’t recommend tours for children under 7 years of age.
Theo Chocolate is located in Fremont, one of many eclectic neighborhoods in Seattle. Before or after your visit, get a photo with the famous Fremont Troll or check out the Fremont Sunday Market.
