The Texas State Aquarium offers a wonderful experience for families. Highlights include a 4D theater, dolphin performances and stingray feedings. Check out the marine life from the Caribbean and Gulf of Mexico, and watch the flamingos, birds, turtles, sloth, reptiles and so much more.
Splash Pad
A zero-entry splash pad complete with spray guns and bucket drops is situated outside the aquarium’s main entrance. The splash pad is included with your admission to the aquarium and is open during the summer months only.

9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Saturday and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday
Things to Know/Bring
– The 4D theater experience offers two shows (no additional cost) and little kids may find one of the shows a hint scary. The shows rotate and oftentimes, there is a kid-friendly show like “Ice Age,” as well as one focused on sharks. Children of all ages are welcome at both shows; just know your child’s limits.
-Children under two years old are free to enter.
-Strollers are available to rent.
-Plan to spend a half-day or more here.
