Held annually towards the end of April, this three-day beach festival welcomes sculptors and visitors from around the world. Pairs and solo sculptors are each given the same amount of time and sand, which is then morphed into magnificent works of art over a three-day period. The creativity, detail and patience is outstanding to see. These sand sculptures don’t even appear to be sand in the end!
A Texas Sandfest ticket gains you access to all three days of the festival, where families can stroll along the row of sculptures to see the progress each day. But there is even more going on at Sandfest. Vendors are selling jewelry, T-shirts, artwork, food and more. There is always live music going on and there are bungee jumps and bounce houses for the kids. Kids will also love the sandcastle making area, where they can get involved and learn techniques from the professionals on how to make an amazing sandcastle.
