Take a 45-minute (round-trip) ride along Strasburg Rail Road, which winds through the open fields of Amish Country. Ride in a Coach, Open Air, or — our favorite — Dining Car, for a family-friendly experience. In the Dining Car, casual entrees (wraps, cheesesteaks and sandwiches) and kid’s options (hot dogs and PB&J) are served, and come with sweet tea and lemonade.

Save money with a traditional Day Pass (adults: $18; kids 3 to 11: $12.50), which provides unlimited rides on the Coach Car and fun extras, such as the Cranky Cars, Pufferbelly Miniature Steam Train and hand-powered Pump Car, situated at the train station.

Strasburg Rail Road also offers seasonal, themed events, including A Day Out With Thomas (Thomas the Tank Engine) and The Night Before Christmas Train (wear your pajamas!). Hours vary throughout the year, though trains generally depart on the hour, daily.
