While the peaks of the Green Mountains that surround Stowe may prove tempting for experienced climbers, you don’t need to scale them to appreciate the majestic scenery here. As an alternative, the town has created a 5-mile, paved multi-use path that cuts through the middle of the valley, weaving among streams and forests with beautiful mountain views. It’s perfect for walking, biking, and rollerblading in the summer, as well as cross-country skiing in the winter.
